What categories does Zina's manufacture?
Pasta salads, classic deli salads, vegan salads, vegetarian salads, grain salads, seafood salads, and prepared meals. Each category has multiple SKUs across retail and private label programs. The full lineup is at zinasfoods.com/collections/all.
How many SKUs does Zina's currently offer?
More than 150 SKUs across retail and private label, spanning all six refrigerated salad categories plus prepared meals. New SKUs are added each season based on retailer demand and seasonal launches.
What grocery chains carry Zina's products?

The store locator at zinasfoods.com/pages/find-us shows current placement.
What is Zina's distribution footprint?
Zina's products reach more than 7,000 retail stores across 40 states. Distribution runs through partnerships with major grocery parent companies, the Wakefern retailer cooperative, and select third-party distributors.
Who do I contact to set up a new retail program?
Email contact@zinasfoods.com or call (973) 428-0660. New program inquiries typically get a response within one business day, with sample requests, decks, and pricing follow-up within the same week.
What pack sizes and case configurations are available?
Retail sizes range from single-serve cups to family-pack tubs. Foodservice options include 5-pound bulk packs. Custom case configurations are available for private label and dedicated retail programs.
Does Zina's stock inventory or produce on demand?
All Zina's products are made to order. We do not work out of inventory; production starts once the PO is placed. This gives buyers maximum remaining shelf life on receipt and the freshest possible product reaching the consumer.
FOR FOODSERVICE AND DISTRIBUTORS
Which foodservice distributors carry Zina's?
Performance Food Group (PFG), US Foods, UNFI, KeHE Distributors, Lipari Foods, and Porky Products. All six carry the Zina's foodservice lineup; specific SKUs vary by distributor and region.
What bulk pack sizes does Zina's offer?
Foodservice options include 5-pound bulk packs, single-serve cups, and intermediate retail-friendly sizes. The bulk pack lineup covers all categories: pasta salads, classic deli salads, vegan and vegetarian, grain, and seafood salads.
Does Zina's deliver direct or through a broker?
Both. Most foodservice volume moves through the distributor partners listed above. Broker-led programs are available for chains that prefer that route. Email contact@zinasfoods.com to discuss which option fits your operation.
Are there minimum orders for foodservice?
Standard MOQ for foodservice is one pallet of mixed SKUs. Custom or private label runs start at 300 pounds, one of the smaller MOQs in the deli salad category. Larger committed programs unlock additional pack size and recipe flexibility.
What is the shelf life on bulk foodservice packs?
Bulk foodservice packs have a refrigerated shelf life of 14 to 35 days from production date, depending on the SKU and recipe. Specific shelf life is printed on each case and confirmed on the SKU spec sheet.
FOR PRIVATE LABEL AND CO-MANUFACTURING
Does Zina's offer private label?
Yes. Zina's runs branded production alongside private label programs for retail and foodservice clients. The South Plainfield facility handles full production from recipe development through final packaging.
What is the minimum batch size for a private label run?
Minimum production batch is 300 pounds. This is one of the lowest MOQs in the deli salad and prepared foods category, which makes Zina's a good fit for emerging brands and dedicated retail private label programs.
How long does custom R&D take from brief to finished product?
Custom private label runs can be shelf-ready as soon as 4 weeks from the initial brief. Simple flavor variations on existing platforms move faster. Larger or more complex formulations take longer depending on regulatory review and packaging procurement.
What packaging formats can we produce in?
Single-serve cups, deli tubs, family-pack containers, bulk foodservice packs (5-pound and larger), and intermediate retail sizes. Specialty formats can be evaluated case by case. Label printing and packaging artwork are coordinated through partner printers.
What categories can Zina's co-manufacture?
All six refrigerated salad categories (pasta, classic deli, vegan, vegetarian, grain, seafood) plus prepared meals and entrées. Hot-hold, frozen, and shelf-stable formats are not produced at the South Plainfield facility.
Who handles label design and regulatory review?
Label design is typically handled by the partner brand or their designer; Zina's reviews compliance and provides nutrition and ingredient panels. Regulatory review for FDA and state requirements is handled in-house by Zina's QA team before first production.
Is the South Plainfield facility SQF certified?
Yes. The facility holds SQF (Safe Quality Food) certification, a GFSI-recognized food safety scheme audited annually. Additional certifications include HACCP compliance and Halal certification. Full details are at zinasfoods.com/pages/our-certifications.
FOR CONSUMERS
What temperature should Zina's products be stored at?
Zina's refrigerated products should be stored between 33°F and 39°F to maintain freshness and quality. Store products in the coldest part of your refrigerator, typically the back of a lower shelf.
How long do products last after opening?
Once opened, Zina's products are best consumed within 7 days when properly resealed and kept refrigerated at 33°F to 39°F. Always check the printed best-by date on the package, which applies to unopened product.
Can Zina's products be frozen?
Freezing is not recommended. The texture and flavor of pasta, mayonnaise-based, and fresh-vegetable salads degrade significantly when frozen and thawed. For best results, buy what you will eat within the refrigerated shelf life.
Are Zina's products gluten-free?
Each Zina's product carries a full allergen statement on its label. Refer to that statement, along with the ingredient list, for gluten and other allergen information specific to the product. The South Plainfield facility is not a dedicated gluten-free facility, so cross-contact is possible for products that don't carry a gluten-free claim.
Are Zina's products halal certified?
Yes. The South Plainfield facility holds Halal certification covering all eligible production lines. Specific SKUs that are halal-certified carry the Halal logo on the package.
Does Zina's offer vegan or vegetarian options?
Yes. The vegan lineup includes black bean, quinoa, edamame, and portobello mushroom salads. The vegetarian lineup adds chickpea, sesame noodle, and Mexican street corn salads, among others. See zinasfoods.com/collections/vegan-salads and zinasfoods.com/collections/vegetarian-salads.
Where can I find Zina's near me?
Zina's products are available in 7,000+ retail stores across 40 states. The store locator at zinasfoods.com/pages/find-us shows current placement by chain. Zina's does not sell direct to consumers online.
How do I report a product issue?
Email contact@zinasfoods.com or call (973) 428-0660 with the product name, package date code, and a brief description of the issue. We follow up on every report. For urgent food safety concerns, please call rather than email.
